Little Debbie’s classic snack cake, Zebra Cakes, is branching out into a new dessert. McKee Foods, the parent company of Little Debbie, has announced the launch of the new Zebra Mini Donuts. The snack will make its way to stocking shelves nationwide this month. The new snack is said to combine the flavor of yellow cake and the stripes of Little Debbie’s famous Zebra Cakes fudge with a treat that appeals to snack cake and donut lovers alike.
Per McKee Foods, Zebra Mini Donuts consists of yellow cupcakes covered in vanilla frosting and finished with a popular wave of fudge strips. Packaged in a convenient resealable bag, with a suggested retail price of $2.19.
“When you go to a donut shop in your area, you expect to see a variety of options,” said Hannah Stocker, McKee’s food scientist responsible for creating Zebra Mini Donuts. “Some of the ones that always stand out are the striped donuts. Little Debbie brand knows a thing or two about stripes, so it only made sense to develop the Zebra Mini Donuts.”
“We’ve been looking forward to this product launch for a long time, and it’s rewarding to finally see it on store shelves,” said Erica Harrison, product manager for Little Debbie. “We know Zebra Mini Donuts will be loved by consumers just as much as those who made it happen.”
The new Little Debbie Zebra Mini Donuts is the latest in the brand’s mini donut line and joins the Fudge Round Mini Donuts and Strawberry Shortcake Mini Donuts. Little Debbie fans can also enjoy mini donuts like Powdered, Frosted, and Glazed.
